byu vs. cheney

I was at school today, picked up a printed out version of the new york times, and saw this. _ bardhi told me that people were planning protests against Cheney's speech at the commencement ceremony. it was interesting to read that most of the people there are Republicans _some define themselves as independent_ and still they do not like that Cheney will be there. i want an article about this in edgesoup _which is almost done. almost.

i bought two pairs of football/soccer socks, one green pair and one yellow pair. i love them so much, that i decided to form a club. everyone with a pair of football/soccer socks can join. you must not be a good football/soccer player to enter the club. you can bring a glass of milk and some cookies if you want to. they helped me win the match tonight.

and more

Saw this sign for the new indian restaurant that was opening. i think the name is quite ambiguous, but i hope that the "more" part has to do with giving you a free massage with every order of roti and paratha.

auk student exhibition3

It was the 3rd auk student exhibition. it's nice to see people try out something different in a business school. the exhibition was good, and then the auction was even better because it netted 2000euros from the pieces of art that were student-made.

pigeons ahoey.

It is so nice to see pigeons flapping their wings and shaking their feathery behinds. I have not seen them since the last crow invasions that have swept the place. big black ugly crows attack and eat pigeons, and do not let them fly in their territories. i missed seeing pigeons a lot. i hate the big ugly crows.

distance call.

Yesterday i got a call from Paris. It was a good friend of mine, Loran, who called. He lives in Paris and studies architecture. I felt so happy, and then Adea, who is on a trip to Paris from Rome - where she studies, talked to me on the phone. It was fun because i felt so connected to this other part of the world that i can't seem to visit that much.

It's so nice to get a call from two friends whom i haven't seen in a long time.

it might work.

Yesterday the new KEK campaign for the efficient use of electricity and for an increase in its revenue collection began. The company i work in is part of this campaign. The sad things is that even before the campaign began, we started having electricity cuts. It really downplays the campaign because people argue that they don't have electricity, why should they be more energy efficient and why should they pay. i don't blame them. But you should pay for the electricity you use.

eedn's tirona+strip bday.

This was a great birthday. I had a great time at Tirona, thanx eedn. The salad was great and the cheese was mind-blowingly yummy. I love all of my friends that were there last night. I will post more pics as soon as rina sends them to me.

quiet hours at jazz212

Shpat Deda came from Bulgaria with his AUBG band and played a great gig at jazz212. He has a great voice and the "quiet hours" create an atmosphere that we rarely enjoy here - live music of this sort. sure, playing chilli peppers songs was not what i had in mind, but they pulled it off real nice. it was a great night because not only i saw shpati perform live for the first time, but i also saw bucket-loads of my primary/high-school friends. it was a tiring night, but it was worth it.

teff's tuks birthday.

Back to the drawing board. Again.

Me and nita started working on the EDGESOUP mag again. The last couple of weeks have been messy (me screwing up with my exams, and nita's tons of work), but now, I think I have a week off from school and more time to finish where we left off with the mag. We want it to be uber-good, and nita is coming up with some real good stuff for the mag. We worked a bit today - just checking where we left, doing some minor changes, and writing things we (mostly nita) work next time (which is today). We then watched "The Science of Sleep", and then talked cardboard/paper buildings a lot after that. The schedule is to have the mag ready by the beginning of spring quarter, and have it printed in the first or second week of the same quarter. I work till 5PM, so that will give me plenty of time to work on the mag after work. I really want this mag to work. Nita wants that more than me I think. I so want it done, I can't wait to finish it.

ODA THEATER: "QYTETI PO RRITET" (THE CITY IS GROWING).

Went to see a play tonight. It really expresses the dissatisfaction with some recent "moves" by the Municipality to try to be more "closer" to its citizens, and more "transparent" as it's decision making process goes. A lousy box or the "Complaint box" was set up in order for dissatisfied citizens to voice their concerns to the heads of the local municipality. It shows a story of a girl who falls into a ditch that was not marked with any warning sign, dug by irresponsible workers that just complain about pay and do nothing to fill the damn ditch/hole. The father tries to seek "justice", as an ordinary citizen should. The play shows how that is simply impossible: corruption, threats and other means. A family that came back to Kosova - for "patriotic" reasons - finds itself in a bitter war to find justice and save the little girl's life, by trying to hold someone responsible for her accident. I really liked it. A good satire and full of messages critical to our "leaders".

Kosovar flags /concepts.

These flag proposals were displayed in the National Art Gallery. Personally, i don't know that the /artists were thinking when they made these concepts. i did not like any of them, i hated them and got angry with them.

MY GIFT FROM JAPAN. THANK YOU VISKA.
